June 23 (Wednesday)
7:30am – 8:20am MDT (1:30pm – 2:20pm UTC)

Last year, DIF and OIDF formed a partnership, and work is under way to connect the DID/VC world with the OpenID Connect world. In this process, the WG is tackling many difficult problems faced by decentralized identity systems.

In this panel, together with 3 distinguished panelists, we will discuss the status of the specifications and the latest thinking on these “hard problems.”

  • Kim Cameron, author of “The Laws of Identity,” Identity Blog
  • Kristina Yasuda, Identity Standards Architect, Microsoft Corporation
  • Tobias Looker, Technical Standards Architect, Mattr

The panel discussion will begin with Kim raising the high-level issues. Kristina, chair of the SIOP Special Call within the OpenID AB/Connect WG, will then explain the current status of the group’s work.

Then comes the fun part. As moderator, I will take on the “hard questions.” I do not know how the virtual-conference technology will work, but if possible we may also invite David Waite of Ping Identity to ask questions.
