I will appear at the International Institute of Finance’s (IIF) Asia Pacific Summit. It will be a panel discussion among distinguished participants, including the President of Bangkok Bank, in the final session on day 1, held on May 20 from 11:20 Japan time to 12:00. (The session will be in English.)
“The Future of E-Commerce”
The coronavirus pandemic has dramatically accelerated trends such as online commerce, adoption of new payment methods, and major shifts in consumer preferences. This raises important questions about how long these changes will endure or whether they will continue to evolve, businesses’ ability to bring new technologies to market, and the tools and technologies small and medium-sized enterprises need when moving to or rebuilding an e-commerce business. The session will also consider the “last-mile” challenge of delivering digitized services to end users and consumers.
It will also examine the future of physical stores and how e-commerce and traditional retail will converge in a post-pandemic world.
- Brad Carr, Managing Director, Digital Finance, IIF (Moderator)
- Nat Sakimura, Chairman, OpenID Foundation
- Chartsiri Sophonpanich, President, Bangkok Bank Public Company Limited
- Kati Suominen, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Nextrade Group
This summit has many highlights besides this panel. For example, Commissioner Himino of Japan’s Financial Services Agency will appear first thing on the morning of day 2.
