Fin/Sum 2021 is co-hosted by Nikkei Inc. and the Financial Services Agency, but the Day 2 main-hall program is primarily organized by the Financial Services Agency. It begins with remarks by State Minister Akazawa and concludes with remarks by Deputy Prime Minister Aso. My session immediately follows remarks by Ryosei Akazawa, State Minister of the Cabinet Office for Financial Services, and is titled “What Should Financial Services and Technology Look Like after the Pandemic?” It is an important session that will, in a sense, set the direction for this 1day.

The panelists are:

It is an impressive lineup.

The panel will begin with a brief explanation from me of what trust is, followed by President Yokota, Mr. Carr, and Mr. Mow. Secretary-General Matsuo will then speak from the regulator’s perspective, followed by about 15 minutes of open discussion and closing remarks.

This year’s event appears to be hybrid, combining online and in-person participation. If you have time, I hope you will watch. Tickets can be purchased here. In-person participation is expensive at ¥100,000; remote participation offers both a free option without archive access and a ¥5,000 option with archive access.
