After last week’s Stag’s Leap had gone bad, I expected this one to be no good either. But it was completely fine—in fact, it was almost still young! On Friday night during the company trip, while everyone else was having a wild party with the female companions, I quietly drank it in Executive Director S’s room with Executive Director S, the husband of “Gabu-nushi,” and the new employee—the 4 of us.

I bought this wine at the winery when Rabbit Ridge was still a small boutique winery in Sonoma*1. Naturally, it has a different character from today’s Rabbit Ridge. It was deeply moving to savor a vanished past while still being able to enjoy the wine properly.

*1 In 2002, Rabbit Ridge Winery moved to Paso Robles.
