A song performed by the Canora Children’s Choir at the World Marimba Festival some time ago has somehow stayed in my mind. I thought it must have been “Zuizui Zukkorobashi,” so I bought scores and CDs by Mr. Ikebe and Mr. Mamiya, but they did not seem to be the same piece.

As I investigated, I found the program from that occasion.

“Hotaru Koi,” composed by Akira Ogura
“Konpira Fune Fune,” arranged by Naozumi Yamamoto
“Zuizui Zukkorobashi”

Hmm, the arranger or composer is not listed in the program….

But then I remembered that “Hotaru Koi” was the piece that had impressed me most. Perhaps that discovery alone is enough.

The performance of “Zuizui Zukkorobashi” at this year’s Kunitachi Music Festival has stayed in my mind, but whose version was it?

It appears that “Hotaru Koi” is available on the following CD.
