iProov Transaction Volume Increases 63% Year on Year

Biometric identity vendor iProov announced that its transaction volume increased by 63% compared with the same period last year. According to the company, this growth is driven by the rapid digitalization of services and the growing threat of sophisticated cyberattacks, particularly deepfakes that use generative AI. iProov has recently expanded its ecosystem by establishing new partnerships with Avoco Secure, Guardline, and TrustCloud.

Okta’s Partner-First Growth Strategy

Okta is adopting a partner-first growth strategy and will roll out the following initiatives:

  • Establishing a central hub of self-service resources and tools for partners
  • Providing on-demand education and timely information
  • Self-service marketing automation
  • Providing project submission capabilities
  • Providing a feature to introduce partner solutions to customers

In addition, together with Microsoft, Google, Ping Identity, and others at the OpenID Foundation, the company launched IPSE WG, a new initiative to strengthen the security of SaaS applications whose risks are further heightened by the integration of AI agents.

Anguilla

The Government of Anguilla (GOA) and Identity Digital announced that they will work together to increase government revenue from .AI domains. With the boom in AI technology and the growing use of .AI domains, in 2023 they accounted for 20% of total government revenue. The two parties aim to build “a world-class registry management program that prioritizes high-quality domains and establishes long-term trust in .AI domain names.”

Vietnam

In Vietnam, by 2025, 60 million taxpayers will be able to use the “eTax Mobile” mobile tax application with electronic identification. As part of a plan to deploy digital identity throughout the tax administration system, the General Department of Taxation will integrate tax codes into the national population database. Electronic authentication data is managed through the citizen mobile application “VNeID,” and according to Identity Week, the linking of all taxpayers’ electronic identities and tax information is expected to be completed by next year.

Europe

Mastercard will roll out its Identity Attribute Verification service across European countries to make online identity verification safer and more efficient1. The service will allow businesses and financial institutions to verify information such as age, date of birth, and address using existing payment-card data without requiring customers to submit additional documents.

United States

Managed identity solutions provider (MISP) BeyondID announced a fraud prevention solution for its customers. It will be offered as part of the company’s managed identity solutions and will help deliver a “secure total experience.”

Panama

The Government of Panama has decided to introduce a digital identity for citizens and permanent residents. This digital identity will:

  • Digitize the information contained in physical documents issued by the Electoral Tribunal
  • Have the same legal effect as conventional physical identification documents
  • Be usable for the online services of all public institutions and private companies
  • Securely store personal documents such as the digital identity, medical history, and résumé
  • Ensure security through facial and biometric authentication
  • Be managed through a smartphone application

The digital identity is optional and does not replace the physical identification document.

Kyrgyzstan

Kyrgyzstan positions digital identity as a key component of its national development plan. Under its digital transformation vision for 2024–2028, it will integrate public services through the Tunduk platform, modeled on Estonia’s X-Road system. It is also considering cross-border digital identity integration with Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. Global companies such as Mühlbauer and Emptech are responsible for providing biometric information and digital identities.
