Starting on October 7, the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare will progressively introduce improvements that simplify the procedures for using the My Number health insurance card and make it easier to use. The main changes are the following 2:

Simplifying Consent to Provide Maximum Copayment Certificate Information

Before:

  • Click “For those using the High-Cost Medical Expense Benefit”
  • Move to another screen
  • Answer the question, “Do you wish to provide maximum copayment information?”

After:

  • Screen transitions and the consent process are omitted
  • Maximum copayment information is provided automatically

Consolidating Consent for the Provision of Medical Information

Before:

  • Consent separately on 3 screens for surgical history, treatment and medication information, and health-check results

After:

  • Consent to provide all information on 1 screen
  • Individual consent screens can still be accessed as needed

These changes are expected to make procedures smoother when using the My Number health insurance card and improve convenience for users.
