On February 8, 2024 from 11 p.m., I will be doing a YouTube stream titled “DID and OpenID as Seen from the XRI Worldline.”
There was once an identifier scheme called XRI. Its Resolution mechanism for retrieving metadata from an identifier achieved a certain degree of adoption, including its use in OpenID Authentication 2.0, but it ultimately disappeared.
In fact, XRI is very similar to DID. For this reason, if we want DID to develop, it seems important to unravel the history of XRI and avoid repeating the same mistakes. So this time, I would like to introduce the path XRI followed, interspersing it with various episodes.
