On January 16, Keio University hosted a symposium on “information banks,” a topic that has attracted attention in many quarters since the Cabinet decision last year. It was the 5th Information Bank Consortium Symposium, “Toward the Realization of ‘Information Banks'”. During its panel discussion, I was given about 10 minutes to speak on “Protecting Privacy and the Responsibilities of Information Banks,” so I am sharing that presentation. I hope you find it useful.
The discussion that followed was also extremely interesting, but I will write about that another day.
