“Automating IT, Business and Society as a Whole with APIs”1 is the catchphrase of the 1200-person conference “API Days 2016”, which will be held on December 13 and 14 at Tapis Rouge in Paris.

I will speak in the afternoon “WORKSHOP CA” on day 1 with a session titled “OpenID Foundation Financial API WG”, and in the Banking APIs track on day 2 with a session titled “Financial Grade OAuth and OpenID Connect,” making 2 appearances in total. Financial APIs using OAuth/OpenID Connect are an area of great interest to the financial sector, influenced by the enactment in 10 of last year of the Payment Service Directive 2 (PSD2), and by the UK’s The Open Banking Standard, announced at the beginning of this year.

If you are in Europe, please do come2. Chris Messina, the father of the Twitter hashtag (a former OpenID Foundation board member, formerly of Google and now at Uber), will apparently be there as well.

See you in Paris!
