The House of Councillors Cabinet Committee, which is deliberating on amendments to the My Number Act and other laws, held a board meeting on the 9th and the ruling and opposition parties agreed to postpone voting on the amendments for the time being, citing the need to assess how the situation develops in light of the issue of a large amount of personal information being leaked from the Japan Pension Service's system.

Although it is called the My Number Bill here, its official name is "A bill to amend the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and the Act on the Use of Numbers to Identify Specific Individuals in Administrative Procedures" [1], and it is a set with the amendment of the Personal Information Protection Act. Therefore, the vote on the Personal Information Protection Act has also been postponed... Now then...
