According to an article in TechCrunch, Twitter is finally taking action to make OAuth access permissions more granular.

According to the article, the consent screen will change from the previous extremely simple version to the more detailed one below, while DM access will automatically be removed from apps that do not require it. I think this is very welcome.

As a result, xAuth will no longer be available on Twitter, and developers will apparently have to support OAuth by the end of this month—by June 14, after an extension of 2 weeks.
