While searching YouTube, I came across Paul Potts. Thinking of the same song, “Nessun Dorma,” I thought of Pavarotti; when I searched, I found his final performance, at the opening ceremony of the Turin Olympics.

I cannot stop crying.

His recordings from when he was young are also good, and I attended the 3 Tenors concert in Tokyo, but this is the best. Perhaps it is the realm he reached at the age of 70. Why do performances become so extraordinary when death approaches? It makes me think.

Sung by Luciano Pavarotti; composed by Giacomo Puccini; from the opera Turandot, “Nessun Dorma.” Please listen.

In prayer.
