Within passing time,
until my breath dies out,
I layer now upon now. (Masako Shiraishi)

“Until my breath dies out, I layer now upon now.” An undeniable fact. The observation of that fact is simply sketched in words. The moment I read it, I thought, ah, that got me. I had never thought about it before. It reaffirmed for me that this is what living is. Amazing. I would like to write something on the same theme, but I am far too sleepy right now…

The petals of the magnolia fall white;
I layer the present moment of my breath.
My breath counts time;
it counts until the moment it dies out.

Hmm, not quite good enough 🙁
