JIPDEC, where I also serve as a visiting researcher, has developed and published registration criteria for “JIPDEC Trusted Service Registration (Electronic Contract Services)” to improve the reliability of electronic contract services.

These criteria specify the items necessary to ensure the security of electronic contract services and contribute to creating an environment in which such services can be selected and used with confidence.

For details, please see the JIPDEC websites below.

Overview of JIPDEC Trusted Service Registration (Electronic Contract Services)

  • Electronic contract services preserve electronic documents using electronic signatures, e-seals, and timestamps.
  • “Sole control” is important, proving a unique action based on the user’s instructions.
  • JIPDEC rigorously assesses electronic-signature processes and emphasizes mechanisms that prevent impersonation by third parties.
  • This enables contracts to be concluded securely and efficiently.

Scope of Registration

  • The assessment covers remote-signature functions, user-management functions, and platform operations.
  • All assessed areas include considerations relating to sole control.

Assessment Requirements for Registration
