On August 22 (Thursday), starting at 20 hours, we will host a YouTube Live stream titled “Is That QR Code Safe? Threats and Countermeasures in Cross-Device Authentication and Authorization Flows,” featuring @ritou, also known as Akita no Neko.
Logging in with QR codes is becoming increasingly common. But is it safe? Authentication and authorization across multiple devices involve many pitfalls, and even at the IETF, work on a best practices document is proceeding at a frustratingly slow pace.1
