It appears that X (formerly Twitter) will remove the counts for “likes” and “reposts” from the timeline. As of March 8, tweets in the timeline show the numbers of replies, reposts, likes, and views, but it seems that only the view count will remain visible.
This came to light when Elon Musk replied to a post by Dodge Designer, saying, “This is definitely happening.”

I can understand the change to some extent, since displaying them in the timeline must also impose a heavy load, but there seem to be many complaints. In fact, the replies are filled with comments such as “Horrible Idea” and “terrible idea”… I find it a little disappointing too. I hope this does not drive even more users away…
