The call for comments on the “Draft Report of the Expert Study Group on the Use of Camera Images for Crime Prevention and Ensuring Safety” began on January 12, 2023. The comment period runs through February 12. The report is more than 70 pages long, so I expect it to be quite substantial.
I definitely need to read it, but if I do it alone I may keep putting it off, so I plan to do a live reading on January 16 from 8 p.m. I will respond to chat comments, but if anyone particularly wants to appear by voice or video, please contact me (← limited to people I know personally). Especially anyone knowledgeable in this area who would be willing to teach me! Incidentally, this is also outside my field, so I will participate as one learner.
Also, I have not been feeling very well lately, so I apologize if I have to cancel. In that case, I will provide updates as needed through my Twitter account (https://twitter.com/_nat).
Other items I am considering doing after this include NIST SP 800-63-4 PD, the BGIN SBT Study Report, and the United States’ Personal Financial Data Rights. I am almost out of time for the last one… (deadline 1/25). This is another reason I am trying the method of publicly declaring that I will do it to spur myself on.
Now, can I manage it…?
