In 2020, the transition from the physical world to cyberspace advanced at an unprecedented pace. COVID-19 forced that transition. Some say that 5 to 10 years’ worth of change took place in just a few months. During that time, stay-at-home policies severely limited our ability to communicate in the physical world, and we came to depend heavily on cyber communication. In cyberspace, all communication takes place through Digital Being (our digital representation in cyberspace). However, because Digital Being is intangible, it lacks many of the properties of physical existence that we take for granted and that are essential to our “safe lives.” This session will provide an overview of the 7 principles of Digital Being needed to make our digital lives secure and safe.
