The OECD Working Party for Security, Privacy for Digital Economy (WP SPDE, pronounced “speedy”), which is usually held in December, was held about 2 weeks earlier this year, on November 15 and 16. I attended both as a member of ITAC (the Internet Technical Advisory Committee) and as the liaison officer for ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 27/WG 5.
Unfortunately, I cannot write about the substance of the meeting 1. However, Professor Shimpo, who was seated across the round table from me, took a photograph. I think it conveys the atmosphere, so I am sharing it here.

The chair is in the middle at the front, with members of the secretariat on either side. I am speaking from the seat marked by the red arrow, immediately next to the secretariat. Here is a closer view.

At this point, I think I was probably talking about an SC27/WG5 project.
This is the layout of the entire room.

I hope this has given you some sense of the atmosphere.
See you next time!
