TBSNews iReports of1According to the report, the government will be holding an international conference on cybersecurity in Okinawa Prefecture this November.
The meeting will be held on November 7th and 8th at a resort hotel in Nago City, Okinawa Prefecture, and currently, the World Economic Forum, which hosts the Davos Conference, is calling for attendance from business leaders, companies, and legal experts from around the world. From the Japanese side, IT Minister Yamaguchi is scheduled to attend, and Prime Minister Abe is also apparently considering attending.
Coincidentally, the previous week was the Yokohama meeting of the IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force) in Yokohama. The IETF is an organization that develops the technologies used on the Internet, and it is no exaggeration to say that the Internet was created by the IETF. It holds general meetings three times a year, rotating around the world, to develop the latest technologies. If participation is open to the public, it is likely that some of the leading figures in the Internet technology world who are visiting Japan for the Yokohama meeting will also attend.
8/5 Update:
This conference is strictly invitation only. The information site is: http://cyber3conf-okinawa2015.jp/ ← (2018/9/26) It's now an adult site, so don't click on it. What on earth is the government doing (angry). This kind of thing is also part of "security". To begin with, it's no good if the site isn't operating on go.jp according to the government's unified standards.
