TBSNews i reports 1 that the government will hold an international conference on cybersecurity in Okinawa Prefecture in 11 this year.
The conference will take place on 11/7 and 8 at a resort hotel in Nago, Okinawa Prefecture. Through the World Economic Forum, which organizes the Davos meeting, organizers are currently inviting business leaders, companies, legal experts, and others from around the world to attend. Japan’s Minister in charge of IT Policy, Yamaguchi, is scheduled to attend, and Prime Minister Abe’s attendance is reportedly also under consideration.
As it happens, the IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force) will be holding its Yokohama meeting in Yokohama the preceding week. The IETF is an organization that develops technologies used on the Internet, and it is no exaggeration to say that the Internet is built by the IETF. It holds a general meeting 3 times a year in locations around the world to develop the latest technologies. If the conference is open to participation, it seems possible that leading figures from the Internet technology community who have traveled to Japan for the Yokohama meeting may also attend.
