Have you ever encountered a large table on a web page and thought, “Ah, I wish I could sort this”?
You can!
With the ActiveTable bookmarklet, you can do just that.
And it is extremely easy.
How to Do It
- Drag the ActiveTable bookmarklet to your bookmarks bar to add it.
- Go to a page containing a table. For example, this one → Free Tax Consultation
- Click the ActiveTable bookmarklet you added to the bookmarks bar.
- Wait 2 to 3 seconds.
- Move the cursor to the first row of the table, and buttons like
will appear. - Click ▲ or ▼ to sort by that column.
- Press X to delete that column.
Useful, isn’t it! Incidentally, use it at your own risk. Tim Bray introduced it, so I do not think it will do anything strange, but I have not read the script myself.
