My mother sent me an album of old photographs.
It is full of nostalgic pictures.
I would like to introduce them gradually.
Here is the first one!
The high-school student playing the flute is me. I think this was in 1983. It is the amphitheater at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC). I returned to KICC last year for the ISO/IEC JTC 1 SC 27 meeting, my first visit in 25 years.
The person playing the piano is Mark Obama Ndesandjo, President Obama’s half-brother. Ndesandjo is the surname of his mother’s second husband. He is a close friend of mine.
This photograph is from the gala concert after we won at the Kenya Music Festival. He often accompanied me. The blue blazers and ties we are wearing are the uniform of St. Mary’s School.
I think this is an extremely valuable photograph, though I may be thoroughly violating Mark’s privacy and portrait rights, lol.
