My daughter played the koto at Tama Tech.
There were 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. performances, for 2 stages in all. The pieces were “Chidori no Kyoku,” “Sakura,” and “Rokudan no Shirabe.”
During “Sakura,” we invited children to join in and let them play a little in the ensemble.
Ideally, it would be nice to perform “Ne no Hi no Asobi,” but perhaps it is too obscure for a general audience.
Speaking of Ne no Hi, I wanted to go pick young pine branches, but I have been too busy for that.
We brought along the Mackie PA set I bought the other day. We arrived at around 11:50. Carrying the speakers upstairs was quite heavy.
For some reason, I forgot the power and microphone extension cords, which caused trouble.
Between the stages, we had a meal at the Japanese restaurant: a tempura set meal, which also came with sashimi.
The microphone setup went better for the 2nd stage.
But… the tuning still went off during “Sakura.”
We should take proper time to tune it.
After the performances, we went to the hot spring. It was extremely crowded.
Because the hot spring is on high ground, a residential area spreads out below, with mountains on the horizon.
The sun set behind those mountains.
For dinner, we had osechi. I drank sake for the first time in a while—about 2 go of dry Kikusui.
I had had a headache since I was at Tama Tech, but it did not go away even after taking medicine.
Could it be my monthly recurring headache again? I had been cleaning the entire house until after 3 last night, so my eyes are stinging too. I hope it is just from lack of sleep.
