I am trying to downgrade a Vaio VGN-TX93HS, but it is proving far from straightforward. After all, it no longer recognizes almost any of the hardware. The video is sluggish, and I was surprised that it does not even recognize Ethernet. I searched extensively for drivers, but they were difficult to find.

I finally found this site:

http://www7.atwiki.jp/vaio_type_sz/pages/10.html

It also describes driver downloads, and was extremely helpful.

For today, I installed it with my personal copy of XP and checked the procedure.
What I need to do on Monday is:

1. Full Restore
2. Partitioning
3. XP Install (Select)

That should do it.

For the time being, I might split the partitions and try dual booting…

Changing the subject, I also worked on my Mac today. I increased the memory to 2 GB.
Parallels is incredibly comfortable.
