During this New Year’s holiday, I built 1 server with Debian Serge.
On it, I created a Gurunavi CMD for OpenPNE, but when I tried to retrieve data from Gurunavi, PHP gave the following error and could not retrieve it:
php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: Temporary failure in name resolution
I searched Google endlessly, but there was no proper solution anywhere. The only one I found was to put the address of the source from which the file was being retrieved into the hosts file, but that can hardly be called a general solution.
At the time, however, I made do with that.
But it did not sit right with me at all.
So I checked a possibility that had occurred to me.
On the newly built server, Debian’s default was to use lwresd as the name resolver client. Could that be the cause?
So, just now, I finally uninstalled lwresd.
The result…
It worked.
It seems that, in my case, this was the problem.
Ah, what a relief. Now I can finally sleep peacefully…?
