While sorting through some CDs and cassette tapes, I found a tape from my high-school days: a Telemann quartet. Bassoon × 1, flute × 2, and continuo, consisting of harpsichord and cello. The bassoon was played by a British woman who was our music teacher; I played the first flute; and the second flute and harpsichord were played by an elderly East German couple, while the cello was played by a West German man.

I thought it would be too embarrassing to listen to, but it was surprisingly listenable. Well, the elderly woman’s 2nd flute has quite a major accident in it. (^_^;)

In those days, in the evenings we would gather at someone’s house and play chamber music like this.

That kind of life is difficult in Japan, isn’t it? I would like to do it, though.

It is a little overcompressed, so the sound quality is not very good…

By the way, I just remembered that the flute I used at the time was stolen from the InterContinental Hotel in Thailand … orz
