Today, I finally went cherry-blossom viewing.

All the relatives gathered in the garden of Kishibe Kindergarten in Shibuya, bringing out photographs of the deceased and arranging them together. Anya, our old dog, who will turn 13 this year and can barely move anymore, is contentedly basking in the sun.

Seeing the mountain cherry blossoms quietly in bloom,
I know that only a few springs remain
for us to spend together
