What I bought today:

Collection of Works by Shūretsu Miyashita
The works of the first Shūretsu Miyashita, founder of the thirty-string koto and regarded as an extraordinary genius, performed by the second Shūretsu Miyashita.

Thirty-String Koto
Shin Miyashita, a performer of the enormous thirty-string koto invented by his father, Shūretsu Miyashita, plays with astonishing technique.

Koto – Hiroe Morikawa

A modern koto played by a young musician only 16 years old who attends the high school affiliated with Tokyo University of the Arts. She apparently also appeared on Takeshi’s Dare Demo Picasso. She is a student of Kazue Sawai, wife of the late Tadao Sawai. “Five Songs Revived” is an ambitious work that introduces the blue-note scale to the koto.

Hōgaku New Wave
An album collecting performances by young hōgaku musicians such as the Yoshida Brothers and Shūichi Hidano.
