Today was a busy day. From 9 a.m., there was a preview of the Toyota New Vitz in Hachioji, followed by a test drive of the Tiida at Nissan Red Stage. After 12, there was a kite-flying event on the banks of the Tama River. Then, that evening, someone from Nissan came and I bought a Tiida.

Compared with the current Vitz, the new model seems to have considerably more volume and improved body rigidity. The thud when closing the door feels luxurious. But as soon as the engine starts, an intense amount of noise comes in. Perhaps it cannot overcome the limits of its size. The steering is heavier than on the current model and the suspension is more solid. As one might expect from a model said to have the VW Golf in mind, it feels closer to a German car. Unfortunately, I do not like German cars very much, so this was actually a minus point. In the end, I decided to buy the Tiida. After much deliberation, I chose Harvest Yellow with a black interior. I still wonder whether I should have chosen a beige interior, but there is nothing to be done. The Tiida is scheduled for delivery at the end of February. It must be popular. It will take time, but that cannot be helped.

There was a fierce wind on the riverbank. It was good for kite flying, but some kites had their strings break and flew away. The strings also became tangled often. I feel as though I spent about 1/3 of the time untangling them.
