It has become considerably chillier. Yesterday was a beautifully clear autumn day, but today is once again overcast and chilly. Seasonal words such as “autumn chill” and “faint chill” fit perfectly. I am writing this at Starbucks, and on a day like this a tall latte is just right.
Today, October 16, is September 3 on the lunar calendar (an auspicious day). This year’s harvest moon was exactly full, so I wondered whether tonight’s moon really would be a third-day crescent, but it apparently looks more like a second-day moon.

It is a haiku from near the end of a trip with one’s lover. I like how the feeling is contained in the words “faint chill.”
