I left Japan on Tuesday evening and am now in San Francisco. I came to negotiate with a company in Mountain View, but over 72 hours I slept only about 3 hours, so I naturally began to feel unwell. I have recovered a little today. After having a meeting from half past 8 in the morning, I rushed to the airport just in time, only to find that the flight was 30 minutes late. I am writing this in the lounge now.
What a convenient world it has become. It feels as though you can connect almost anywhere with wireless LAN. This time I stayed at Four Points by Sheraton, Sunnyvale, and wireless LAN worked everywhere there as well, even in the garden.
With things like this, battery life is an important performance feature too. I am using a Panasonic CF-R3, which arrived last week. The manufacturer’s claim that its battery lasts 9 hours means it can be used for about 5 hours in actual operation, which is very practical. I recommend it.
