Overview and Future Outlook of Trust Framework for Student IDs 

On May 2012, 5, the OpenID Foundation JapanStudent Identity Trust Framework WGAs a presentation of the results of the project, "Trust Framework Seminar vol.2 - Using student IDs to provide online student discount services" was held, with speakers including Professor Motonori Nakamura of the National Institute of Informatics and Shingo Yamanaka of the OpenID Foundation Japan.

Student Identity Trust Framework WG  

This is a joint working group with the National Institute of Informatics (NII) established under the Trust Framework Working Group. We will build a trust framework that connects the academic and private business sectors, and by handling the attribute of being a student online, we will make it possible to present a student ID card in the online world. Potential use cases include digital newspapers, e-books, software, student discounts on travel tickets, and credit card contracts.
