Even though summer has not yet reached its height, perhaps because of the typhoon, last night was cool and carried a hint of autumn. Come to think of it, the daytime heat was dry too; rather than summer heat, it may have felt more like late summer.
A broken wind chime—
the passing summer evening.
On a summer night stroll,
an autumn wind.
In the sky after the typhoon,
an autumn moon.
In a village of autumn fields,
the color of ripening persimmons.
At dawn,
drawing clear water racing over stones—
in my palm,
vividly, a lapis-blue sky.
