The Laguna Garden Hotel is located about 12 kilometers north of Naha. It is affiliated with ANA, and water flows through the lounge, which can be looked down upon from the lobby, visually uniting it with the garden beyond the large glass windows.
This year it also serves as the Yokohama BayStars’ spring training base. At the adjacent Ginowan Municipal Baseball Stadium, I could see the players doing stretching exercises and the like to music from early in the morning (pictured). Beyond them was the sea, although the hotel is quite far from the beach.
A taxi to Asato in central Naha costs about ¥2,000, so it makes an ideal base camp for combining a resort atmosphere with Naha nightlife.
