It appears that X (formerly Twitter) will remove the display of "likes" and "reposts" from the timeline. As of March 8th, tweets on the timeline currently show the number of replies, reposts, likes, and views, but it seems this will be reduced to just the view count. According to a TechCrunch article, Twitter is finally taking action to improve the granularity of OAuth access permissions. This will change the consent screen from the current extremely simple one to a more detailed one, and will automatically revoke DM access permissions from apps that don't need them. This is very welcome news.
